the GDR called itself antifaschistic so they did everything to kick former nazis out of their positions. the GDR was lead by people who fought in the resistance like socialists and communists and former concentration camp prisoners. in the west former nazis could go on with their career as if nothing ever happened. they became very successful as doctors, majors and judges. -.-
