Why have so many of the most famous Christian authors and theologians begun as ardent atheists or skeptics only to radically embrace the Christian faith when they began to systematically examine the claims of Christ?

Atheism makes sense christianity doesnt. Give me proof Heaven or Hell exists. And dont use your fiction book. I grew up in a christian/ catholic home, people its basically the same thing, Religion is the basis of all the hate in the world. So join me in boycotting religion. Atheists have ranged from personalities as diverse as Carl Sagan, Ben Franklin, Frank Lloyd-Wright, Thomas Paine, Ayn Rand, Kurt Vonnegut, Arthur C Clarke, Mark Twain, Thomas Jefferson and Natalie Portman.
