This just became my favorite song I've ever written about 2 minutes into writing it. I had to share it right away so I hope you all like it as much as I do. Hopefully my heart carries it cuz I know my shit vocals sure don't haha.
LYRIC:
"Stand To Fall"
Words, Music & Melody
By Julia Collins
Past generations of purpose and cause
They were perfect in essence, addressing their flaws
No one with dedication could abide by laws
They would fight and fall to the floor
As quick as their rise their worth fizzled out
Half lowered their heads and half took a bow
And I hear the ghosts sound "If they rehashed that war
Would you be willing to fall to the floor?"
Well, push came to shove and we got our own fight
Cuz some fool convinced us that he was right
And don't that sound familiar well, it did to me
So where's our Dylan and King?
Well, they just didn't come and no poetic phrase
Was painted on cardboard and over-head raised
But I guess a few marched out with neat printed signs
But that ain't what I'd call a rise
Now it's apparent, we're all full of greed
Guess they fought for the right for that man to succeed
And our hearts should be martyrs for the good of the day
For this whole age of rage man, we should pay
We don't need a movement or a Volkswagen van
No assassination to devise us a plan
We just need like minds who are touched by the truth
To gather together and confront our youth
Saying where's your passion people?
Where's your passion?
It goes like, "NO WAR!"
Past generations of purpose and cause
They were perfect in essence, addressing their flaws
No one with dedication could abide by laws
They would first fight and fall to the floor
