Minecraft Cast Away #15 - Dirt Pyramid

Welcome to Minecraft 1.1 in Minecraft Cast Away! I've started a brand new world with the seed "292202" which, along with being the official distance traveled in my Far Lands or Bust world, is a seed that spawns you in the middle of an ocean without a single tree.

In today's episode, I reveal some new renovations to my 'duplex' house and set in motion my plans to travel to the Nether in search of a Nether Stronghold! Always the showman, I can't just plunk my portal down any old place, so I decide to build a pyramid shrine for it instead.

I've decided on a few rules for Cast Away to keep things interesting:
1) Play on HARD difficulty setting!
2) No setting new spawn points! I can sleep, but have to break the bed immediately after. This way, if I die, I am sent all the way back to the original spawn point on the deserted island.

Le Sigh...Things you MUST take when you go to the Nether:

One: COBBLESTONE! It's common, easy to manage, and Ghast-proof.

Two: BOW AND ARROWS! LOTS of arrows! How else are you going to defend yourself against Ghasts?

Three: BOWL AND CRAFTING TABLE! Mushrooms are everywhere in the Nether and you need to be able to make use of them or you're an idiot!

Four: DIAMOND ARMOR! Although that's kind of cheating now...

...And it would suck if Kurt died and lost his Companion Rose in the Nether...
