Laser District 8 Regatta - 2nd race of the East End Series. 14 full-rig Lasers and 20 Radials sailed a four-race series in seperate fleets. A nice steady breeze of about 14 kts kicked up some surfable waves and kept the action nonstop.
The courses for races 1 & 2 were W-L twice around, race 3 was modified olympic, and race 4 was a triangle (not recorded because my camera was out of memory by then.)
Peconic Bay is truly one of the prettiest places to sail. Thanks to our hosts at the Old Cove Yacht Club for putting on a great series and welcoming us to their little corner of the world.
and release your cunningham fully reaching and going downwind

adjust your kicker before you go downwind. you will find it easier to keep the boat flat and moving fast. in a wind like that, move back in the boat to lift the bow as you bare away and as you go through the power zone before heading downwind, u might plane for a second of 2. kicker downwind should be loose enough to get a good amount of twist in the leach, about 70 deg boom angle, 90 deg in the top part of the leach. reaching, leach shouldnt be open or hooked, slight leech twist
