@Ahamster1 Noticed its service ceiling is only 18000m, however I doubt it would do that if fully armed.

@gerry301 nope, it ended up as a research platform for other versions ;) (affordable versions that is ;P)

Do you know where I can find the video of the Russian Jet coming up out of the sea??

This plane is very unique. In a fire fight, the speed
of its ememy will take it out. This plane does it trick at slow speeds .

I believe the November 19th date was the demo YF22. Unfortunately due to our procurement holiday of the 1990s the first F22 did not enter the inventory until 2005. Personally I like the new radar as much as I like the aircraft.

These tricks are appealing to the eye, but do absolutely nothing in combat. Russia has been financially unable to build these for military use because they have not been ok financially for a very long time. Oh and the F-22 took it's first flight on Nov 19th, 1990 :)
Awesome manuverability. Scary to think Russia developed this in 1996. Glad the Russian air force never placed any orders for the aircraft. I'm curious why they didn't? Money?

I'd say it was because Russia has no enemies with a credible air threat.

Also a possibility. But the Russians alwys like to export if they have a good product. My understanding was the SU 37 cost a bunch of money to build and would not be affordable to most nations. Including Russia at the time. At least thats my idea.

Thats true,I'd say the war in Chechnya had a big impact on the designation of their military funds.Besides the cost, they leaned heavily towards aircraft with a more ground attack role given the type of enemy they faced. But yeah any of the countries that could afford them had their own or traditionally buy theirs from western countries.A pity really.
