  • As a school library technician I daily see children who have no books, no bookshelf, let alone one or two books taken out of their school library. All children, globally, have a right to be surrounded by books; to have access to them--to be able to touch them, pick them up and have the ability to read them. Reading is an important skill that will not only get a job, but will more importantly, serve to open the doors of our childrens' imagination and pave the way for their persoal achievement.

  • @estocanuck you should tell them about banned books that are banned for no reason. That's what my teacher did and ever since I've been reading non-stop. and there are tons of youtube videos about books that are banned (mostly in america) and are best selling like twilight and my sister's keeper

  • very well put, though i know you wrote this 9 months ago

i'm an English literature student at university, i own literally hundreds of books and i've pretty much never been in a library

truth be told they kind of scare me actually, my school never taught me how to use one and the one there was woefully underfunded

  • Very inspirational, we watched this for school, and wrote an essay on the importance of literacy on it.
