mpact Bay Area's purpose is to prevent violence, promote healing and foster safe communities by teaching women and girls the emotional and physical skills to defend themselves against verbal, physical and sexual assault.

Our mission is to provide high-quality Impact training to every woman and girl in the Bay Area.

Through our years of experience, we know every woman, regardless of her age, size or physical health can learn to effectively defend herself against verbal, physical and sexual assault. In our courses, students practice physical and verbal techniques in an adrenalized state resulting in "muscle memory" - their bodies will remember the techniques in a crisis situation.

  • @smr144 The fierce women in this video are beautiful & deserve to feel safe.

Sexual assault myth #14: Only young & attractive women are raped.

The truth: Rape is not about sex & love. Sexual assault is a violent criminal act which uses sex as a weapon. Rape results from a desire for power and control, not physical beauty. The majority of rapists are married and/or have other sexual partners. Men rape because it allows them to express anger and to feel powerful by controlling another person.

  • Hi smr144. I'd like to take this opportunity to personally invite you down to the training center. Let me know and we can set up a date for you to say these things in person instead of online.

  • These women should only train to protect themselves against a robbery, but not a sexual assault. All of them made my penis soft, particularly the main start: the dark B-not-BW.

  • Excellent video. Excellent program. They even have courses for teens. I took the course many years ago and still consider it one of the best things I have ever done for myself. They have some scholarships. And professional counselors get a discount. Highly recommend it.

  • No! Stomp! Knee! Knee! Safety!

All my respect to Bay Area Impact graduates and instructors.

  • I graduated from the Basics class at a sister program (Prepare Portland) a couple of weeks ago. I don't have words for how highly I recommend it. It has been a life-changing experience for me. I learned to own my voice and my strength in this class. I learned verbal and physical skills to keep myself safe and to protect myself. Two thumbs up for Impact!!

  • As a graduate of this program, I strongly recommend it. It not only teaches self defense techniques, but helps build self esteem and confidence. And just as, maybe more, importantly, it teaches you how to de-escalate a situation so you may not have to fight in the first place.

  • Excellently done video; all those moves = absolutely the right ones.

I would not ever want to be mistaken for an attacker by a graduate of the program.
