Bavab Bavab @ Echo Curio 6/19/09

On Friday, June 19th, I sat in with Bavab Bavab at Echo Curio. We played a 45 minute set. The next day we performed there again but with a different line up. For these two nights, I decided to use my Buescher c-melody saxophone. I love the idea of using an instrument designed for "parlor music" in the early 20th century in an atonal, free-improv setting in the early 21st century. This video is just a small portion of those performances.

this sounds great. sorry i missed it. i hear a crapload of talking in the background. is that the silver fake hipster kids talking about the pathetic dramas of their banal self involved lives? last time i went to hear something quiet there, i could't hear the music over all the insipid banter in the side room. why even go to see music if you're going to talk over it? at least you guys could play loud enough to bury that crap.
