Im just learning to use one of these and need help please. my creases are cracking really bad, so i have to back the pressure right off, remove all packing sheets from under the chase plate and then pack behind all the knife cuts with shimm tape. This is a pain in the ass. Is there any thing i could do??

On the fast drive belt at top speed it runs at 5000 s.p.h.
Not recommended for most jobs.

@vickozoomba My co-worker left a pair of side cutters on the die and started up quickly... I just about had a heat attack.

I run an older Heidelberg from time to time. Our shop has two. We use one for printing and one for die-cutting. They really are well built machines.

Errrr...yes. On one ocassion I forgot to lock the forme in. The forme locks are meant to be secure in that if they are undone then the pointed ends prevent the forme from flying out. Unfortunately they had worn down so when the press picked up speed the forme came flying out. Have you any idea just how far it can go and the racket it can make? It's a head turner for sure. Needless to say I made that mistake only once.

the speed of this press can go quite fast but its up to the operator and how much guts he has...have you ever witnessed a poorly locked up chase coming loose in one of these babies? Bang crash screech sums it up.
The speed of the machine is up to 3.800 boxes per hour.
