  • They just finished over hauling the 80+ years engines. WOW what a job, can't go out and buy "parts". Great that you can walk through it on the cruise and even ask the engineers questions.

  • On riverboats,it's a lot quieter in a steam engine room than it is in a diesel engine room.

  • Steam engine valve gear fascinate me. At the ring of a bell from the bridge, the engineers effortlessly flicks tons of valve gear parts around to change from forward to reverse and back. Imagine how balanced, well-oiled and carefully machined every part has to be for the entire machine to function!
