A 24 inch diameter red oak, killed by oak wilt last fall was felled at our demonstration days in April. This tree has a volume of 400 board feet, about our annual growth per acre each year. The butt log will be quartersawn and all the lumber make into flooring. www.TimbergreenFarm.com has information on the forest to finished flooring business.

Yes very easily through the root system.

  • @TheBrassHole Oak wilt will kill a red oak in one year and if more red oaks are close by and they have root grafted then they will be a goner too. The white oaks can live much longer with the oak wilt.
