This was essentially a pisstake of all those ridiculous "the child born with a toe on it's face" style documentaries. Students have been getting the biggest laughs out of it so far so, if it makes you chuckle, do let me know.

I just wanna understand this, what is this movie? If indeed this is taking a swing at exploitative channel 4 docs, then why all the mysoginistic and homophobic jokes?

I mean come on, Meet the Spartans did'nt even aim this low.

Plus, it looks nothing like the documentaries you are apparently riffing on, if your going to emulate something then do it properly.

I hear the film got trashed by your tutors, I'd say rightly so.

All I can say is, I hope the essay saved it.

hmm...valid points to be fair. It ended up getting a 2:1, which aint too bad. Looking back on it, the shots weren't conventional of the channel 4 documentaries at all. That is down to the improvised way we shot this combined with a lack of preparation.

Dude meet the spartans...thats low. Comedy offends people if its intentions are not understood, thats the way it is. I got the laughs from my target audience, so all is well =D

I see your point, but your 'target audience' is'nt marking your work. But I guess your tutors must have seen something in it to give it a 2.1. I understand if you we're under stress due to time, but in fact, would'nt the pressure give you the incentive to do better?

And to be honest, in a movie in which the big gag is a guy sniffing panties. Can I ask, how low do you have to go in order to make some psuedo-satirical point?

True, but I didn't make it in hopes of getting high marks, I made it to make people laugh. Indeed thats a foolish thing to be doing at university, but hey thats what first year is for!

I wouldn't say that is the big gag. That's the gross out moment. The guy's life is the gag. He's so up himself that he just isnt human, if we had more than a 5 minute allowance I would have explored why he feels the need to act the way he does.
