    Here's why the original was great, and the remake sucks:

    The original was more realistic.

    In the original, the teenagers acted like real teenagers. They were dirty, gritty, they misbehaved, they swore and overall acted like teeenagers do in real life. They were real underdogs.

    The teenagers in the remake are squeaky-clean, family-friendly, politically corrected teens mass-produced by the same machine that created "High School Musical" and "Glee".
