Just one example is Theresa of Avila who used the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises and contemplative "prayer" ended up with loud sounds of rushing waters and birds chirping in her head that wouldn't go away. Jesuits have been demonized through them (according to Berean Call) and apparently others are experiencing physical problems as well. I urge you to avoid these catholic practices which are really pagan practices brought into the early church by those who lacked discernment at the very least
If you are actually Talking to God in your "Conversation" with Him, that's great, but the contemplative Silencing the mind and visualization of the Ignatian Spiritual exercises are pagan practices. In Deuteronomy 12:30-31 the Lord warns us to not use pagan forms of religious practice in our worship of Him, and for good reason. I trace the practices back to early church history & their entrance to Christianity via Clement & Origen of Alexander. Spiritually Dangerous~ I hope you take heed
The practice of the presence of God can take you all the way, when combined with Bible reading, local church fellowship, and ministering to others in whatever ways God has enabled you to minister, whether simple service to others in physical needs, or preaching the word, or any other worthy ministry.
May God be the aim of every thought, word, and deed for each of His children. And may all creation praise Him.
