Be My Friend - http://www.myspace.com/psychtruth

Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. Psychologist discusses symptoms of severe mental states such as catatonia and hallucination. This is psychological view of schizophrenia.

Are extreme states of mind like schizophrenia biological mental illnesses or psychological disorders?

What is the best hope for recovery for someone suffering from such an extreme state of mind? Can these people be treated with psychology or do such states require psychiatry and medication?

Often these states are drugged with antipsychotic medications such as Risperdal, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Geodon, Haldol, Thorazine, Stelazine and Clozaril. All of these drugs are used to control symptoms only. They are not cure for mental disorders. They all have an unknown mechanism of action. Some have side effects and adverse events that can cause permanent neurological damage, movement disorders, diabetes, weight gain, impaired cognitive functioning.

  • Nice one, wanna know more of this..My friend I think is schizophrenic and I wanna support her.

  • @nephildevil People have bought his book. How does it feel to be wrong?

  • This is only a personal observation, but I have noticed that the medical community prescribes conspicuously high doses of anti-psychotics, and the moment the patient fails to take a dose it is like taking the lid off a pressure cooker and there is an episode. Question, are patients more likely to take their medication and remain stable on lesser, but more frequent dosages dosages? For example instead of 10mg 2x daily, take 2mg 4x daily to maintain a more stable dosing curve?

  • @CliveGains80s Search Wikipedia for

    Sluggishly progressing schizophrenia

This is about soviet Russia misusing psychiatry for political persecution. But Germany is much worse.

  • Persistently choked hiccups or acidy stomach? Not to be rude, because this guy makes a lot of sense, but did he become a victim of an extrapyramidal side-effects off one of these drugs or?

  • @jaco0bx My nephew is 27 and has been delusional on a chronic basis but at times seems normal and intelligent. He hears voices daily and acts out, but he has gone thru some traumatic life experiences including high stakes gambling in Las Vegas for years using the stongest pot available, Crystal meth abuse and a homosexual relationship that has caused him shame and he was gradually ripped off online gambling for 40K. We are in Texas and cannot find long term care for him. Any advise.
