@gubocci What does the hall being in the US matter. Artists from all over the world have been inducted into it. As for it being a surprise, well actually it was. No other heavy metal band in the history of the hall have ever been inducted. Metallica had no advantage over any other band, so them being from the states means nothing.

Metallica is not only in the hall of fame but they have the bragging rights and honour of being the first heavy metal band to be inducted. And just to add a little salt to that wound, maiden has been around longer. Pretty damn good for so called "pretend wankers"
