I report and discuss the results of my sleep test.

Correction: The heart rate dips that I interpreted as heart stoppage were not. The finger monitor was just not working. I had recorded some heart stoppage on a cardiac monitor a couple of weeks previous, but not during the sleep test.

  • Thank God you had this done.!!... and also for your insurance... so many of us dont have insurance for any tests like this... I sleep very little... mainly due to fibro and disk disease... so Im awakened often... most I get is 2 to 4 hrs.. but... Im am glad you got this taking care of.. and you get better..........:)

  • @ladytrish51 Thanks. It has been a life saver. If I didn't have insurance I would probably be dead by now.

  • hi there, i am getting a cpap, how did it go on getting used to it,? do you enjoy better sleep and are you more energetic? i loved the video's.

  • Hi. It took a while to get used to it. If you can't get used to the mask you have, make sure you ask for a different one. I found the nasal pillow mask worked best for me, but it was the third one I tried before I found one that worked. It takes a while, but yes, I am able to stay awake all day, sit through a whole movie without dozing off, drive more safely. For me, the cpap is a life safer.

  • Phil, I am scheduled to go have my sleep study done in less than a week. I came across this video series and I'm so glad I did. Knowing what's ahead for me makes it that much less stressful. No suprizes thanks to you. My anxiety has gone down tremendously about the whole thing. Keep it up!

  • Good luck with your test. Getting the cpap machine has completely changed (perhaps saved) my life.

  • I can't tell you how much I appreciate your research. I have had my sleep study done and am reluctant to proceed with the wearing of the mask. You have helped me make the right choice.

  • @hiway280z

well, that's what my doctor told me and it worked.

  • @MooiVrouwNL Use the cpap no matter how you sleep, side back what ever

  • @civicadam thank you for the correction on rem sleep. I thought rem was the deepest and the one you really need the most. I understand also that is when you dream and that stage is absolutely necessary for your health.

  • @iwatcher69 It usually affects over weight people. Some are not over weight and losing 10 % of your body weight or even 20% which would leave skin and bones will not help. Your health and life is at stake so it is best to stay with the advice of a Dr. Each case is different.

  • I just had my sleep study last night. The lady couldn't tell me what I had or how many events I had but, she did say, oh they will probably be calling you back, so I took that as I probably do have sleep apnea I have the symptoms too, thanks for sharing your story and the test results, I hope you are getting better sleep now!

  • Hey i knw how u feel.ive jst got my test,i was gobsmack

  • All you gotta do is lose 10% of your body weight!!!!
