ABOUT THIS VIDEO

A QANTAS Airbus A380-800 makes her final approach and then lands on Runway 27L at London Heathrow Airport with a beautiful sunrise behind her.

Just four days after this video was filmed as she arrived in Sydney following a flight from Singapore, two rear tyres on the left hand side of the aircraft burst throwing up sparks. Luckily no one was injured and the plane was repaired within 24 hours and put back into service.

  • What's the difference between an A380-842 and an A380-881? They look exactly the same. I suppose that question goes for all aircraft, too. Why do they need the specific number? Why not just (for example) A380-800?

  • @airbusisawesome The first 8 after A380 is the model variant. The 4 means Rolls Royce engines and the 2 in the case of QANTAS means its the 2nd variant of that engine. The QANTAS A380 fleet has more powerful Trent 900 engines so they can operate out of LAX with a full load.

  • Èèn ding snap ik niet, ze hebben altijd licht aan, is dat verplicht, tegenliggers zijn er niet. of 'n seintje voor de toren?

Wie kan mij daarop antwoord geven?

  • @MyCarla27

The lights are used so the tower can see them on the approach better.

De lampen worden gebruikt zodat de toren kan zien op de aanpak beter.

  • @mcpcshowcaseHD you're a Deutch ( sorry , I don't know to write into german )

  • @18daryus I'm English. I translated my answer into Dutch for another user using Google Translate.

  • For anyone familiar with Tullamarine airport in Melbourne Australia, if you stand on the road that runs past the airport at Greenvale you will get a closer shot than this. By the time they get to the road the hwere people stand to watch them land the runway is only a matter of metres from the road and they land right at the start of it. Next time I'm there I'll try and get some footage and post it on here. it would be awesome. Gary

  • @HeathrowSpottingHD It has no problems what so ever, it's had ONE engine faluire, it's just pricks in the media over hyping as per usual, it is the safest most elegant plane in the world, built by some of the worlds most experienced engineers, I asure you it's safe, I've been on one of these bad boys twice!

  • Great video mate.

You can replicate a trip to Myrtle Avenue in London simply by taking a trip to your local supermarket in the middle of winter and sitting on a fold up camp chair in the frozen food section with a big jacket and a beanie hat on whilst watching this excellent video on a maximised screen and having a cup of coffee out of a flask
