Do you guys remember this concert? This is the VERY FIRST concert that I've uploaded on my channel! The original description was very short, and contained nothing interesting. This new description contains the "classic" Gregsynthbootlegs outline (quality, vocal shape, etc), and will be much better! Despite being a bit incomplete (this recording misses "Now I'm Here" and everything after "Tie Your Mother Down"), this show ranks high on my "favorites" list, and is among one of the best shows on the tour! The audience is very enthusiastic, and every song sounds strong!

Freddie's voice is in superb shape for this show, and he delivers many versions of songs that wouldn't sound out of place on the Crazy Tour! He sings excellent versions of the fast "We Will Rock You," "Let Me Entertain You" (where he sings album phrasing in spots), "Need Your Loving Tonight" (nails the whole thing--best version ever), "Play The Game" (top 10 version), "Mustapha," "Death On Two Legs" (probably the best "medley" version), "Somebody To Love," "Save Me" (best version on the tour), "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and "Tie Your Mother Down." This is also the last known recording where Freddie still had the "Crazy Tour edge" to his voice--later recordings on the 1980 tour have him sounding more "macho" and he would start to really oversing songs! The rest of the band are in strong form as well (brilliant solos from Brian and Roger)!

ENJOY!!!

Note: Thank Ikeisbo for making me update this description! I spent 30 minutes trying to think of stuff!

  • Montreal is great, but he doesn't hit all the A4s in the verses (he sings Jazz Tour phrasing instead)! This version and the Hammersmith 1979 one are the elite versions!

  • In my opinion, I prefer the Rock Montreal version, simply because of the "tour de force" :P

  • It's now Oakland!

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs OMG! And I though the best version was from Hammersmith

  • Yeah, this is probably the closest he'd ever get to the album version! There's a couple Crazy Tour versions that are really good also!

  • This is one of the best versions...much better than rock montreal
