western front was way to bloody, way to violent. One well placed machine gun could kell hundreds even thousands of men. The draft back then picked alot of guys not even out of High School or College.

Was rummaging through a draw packed with family documents a while back and came across a little card dated 1916 declaring my grandfather fit for active service. The Highland Light Infantry and the Western Front awaited him.
