@LeymoreTheAlchemist The song is actually about religion, and it taking away a person's individuality. The album it was supposed to be on is the "Believe" album which was ALL about religion. He also references dead philosophy (which is the religion) and offering his soul. He is saying that religion gains converts by taking people in hopeless positions and offering them hope, but then that religion dehumanizes that person.
