Actually he says that he created them to be comics and that they should only work AS comics lest the intent be distorted, as is the case.

I didn't particularly like the plot of the film From Hell, kind of pointless really. It's not the actors fault though.
Although I'd like to see if anyone has got balls to make a proper From hell film based entirely on the comic. It's an impossible task!
