  • EXCELLENT I am 55 year old male who has suffered with procrastination since my teens. I have tried to self analyze this many time to no avail.

You perspective is something I had not considered and I like the idea of making my own choices because I want to instead of having to..

    This is GREAT ! ! !

I plan to give this more thought someday soon... :) Kidding..

    Thanks,

    GS

  • And with teachers this could be possible, but only if class sizes were halfed.

  • It seems to me that this kind of interaction, consulting as stef puts it, would be very awkward unless there was obviously a problem. And when their is a problem it becomes difficult to bring up unless the parent is able to admit that maybe they aren't always right, which in the framework of our patriarchal society is nearly impossible. Parent=God in many a subconscious.

  • genius

  • Half hour? D:

    *adds to watch later list*

  • I don't HAVE to do ANYTHING! You hear that Mom?! :-) jk thanks for your insight, it really makes sense to me and starting now I am going to try this idea out. I'm glad I subscribed to you.

  • The problem is when your own brain orders you to do stuff. For example my brain orders:

If you don't wash your teeth your teeth will fall out. GO WASH YOUR TEETH. No, not one more video, go now or you will forget.

So basically the logical part of me that makes desicions orders those desicions on the inmeadiate satisfaction driven me.

Maybe the problem is all the work I did in school thinking I'd become something for nothing made me loose hope in this delayed satisfaction concept.

  • @spystyle thats exactly how i felt too when i found his videos, very awesome

  • I am a chronic procrastinator.

  • 15 mins in. Rather simplistic viewpoint of how people "react" to commands.

I have to disagree, that asking ALWAYS works with EVERYONE, and that commanding ALWAYS fails for EVERYONE and creates passive aggressive behavior.

There are far too many people on this planet with myriad experiences for you or anyone to simplify to one or even several sets of causes.

Unfortunately for you, people react to the same exact experiences in entirely different ways, effectively destroying your solution.
