SODA Offroad Racing Demonstration

Brief clip showing the little-known SODA Offroad Racing by Papyrus. It shows a complexity to vehicle physics that is only just becoming expected now, and was a long way ahead of its time.

The game itself is similar to Tough Trucks with racing around dirt tracks with plenty of jumps and sliding. Its got a simulation feel which can make it quite difficult, but is very rewarding once mastered.

@superallye Ill look into that. I had this game as a teen, loved it. I have found out that the guy who was responsible for all the engineering of the dirt physics works with iRacing now.

Graphics may be from cartoon land but physics is brutally realistic and unforgiving. BTW, anyone know if there's a version that doesn't automatically put directx when you install the game? The included directx on this game is old and overwrites the newer one you may have on your system. There's no way to bypass this, it automatically installs when you install the game.

i used to have this game before. it is really, really hard to control the cars. but, for its time, i really like the physics. like papyrus's other game, nascar racing, it's old, but the physics are still pretty good. engine can shut down because you break the car too much etc..

This game and the Indycar and Nascar series were awesome. They don't make racing games like this anymore.
