British Revert Sis. Jan talks about being a muslim in the UK

Sister Jan from the UK, who has recently reverted to Islam from Christianity. She shares her thoughts about Islam and why she converted. She talks about the Quran about Allah (SWT) Hijab and modesty and what people and how the public may view her. She ends up deciding to to wear the Hijab as we join her on her first day at work while she wears it.

i'm not muslim but my roomate is muslim. she told me that when wearing hijab u must not show also your neck...is not just about hair, is about neck also...u can let just the fac discovered at least..is it true? or it depends on woman..because she put th ehijab the way old ladies in my country do it, but not as my roomate does it...

Islamic Hijab does not only mean the covering of the hair, but a complete dress code. A woman is free to leave her face and hands exposed but nothing else including the neck. The dress itself can not be too tight as to reveal her shape nor made of see-through material etc. The whole dress code is meant to hide a woman's beauty and preserve it for her husband, and to express modesty in public.
