I think that if u have the silencer and u change the exhaust pipe the sound would be almost the same but the muffler changes a lot because you replace the silencer with the muffler, then u can change the pipe if u want. Also you can take the silencer off and put a piece of tube and would be a straight pipe, but the sound its berry diferent than flows, magnaflow and all this. Racer mufflers dont go with explorers

to get a nice sound do i have to change the muffler or can i just change the exhaust pipe?

Well part of the reasen my truck sounds the way it does is I gutted out the cattilitic converters. Im not sure if you can get away with that there or not. I know around here they dont check Emisions So im not worried about it. I have actually thought about having a Regular 40 put on it lol. not any time soon but was a thought. Im not sure if I would drop the 40 or not though man :D sounds good n deep!

Sounds pretty good, should rev it up higher to hear the full tone though. Check out my 95 some time.
