Jerusalem dates back over 3800 years. First ruled by Canaanites calling it Urushalimum, later the Yabusim fortified the town with the citadel atop the hill of Zion. It was King David who captured the city and resided at Zion, later building his own palace. The Yabusim, and Davidic city was only 9-10 acres within it's walls, and about 2,000 in population.
