Ultan Conlon is an emerging talent from the West of Ireland. At the age of 28 he already has two solo projects under his belt - a live E.P. in 2002 and his self-titled E.P. in 2005. His last project saw him joining forces with a fellow Galwayman, John Conneely, for the interesting live act that was UltanJohn (www.myspace.com/ultanjohn) Ultan's songs have garnered a lot of interest, with one of his tracks featuring in a British short film "The Beholder", which featured at the Cannes Film festival. Last year the legendary John Martyn featured on a recording of one of Ultan's songs "Really Gone". Ultan has played at the Electric Picnic, and he has supported John Martyn, Mark Geary, Roesy, Sabrina Dinan,David Kitt and The four of Us amongst others. Recording his debut album is almost complete and some rough mixes of new tracks are on the media player. There will be lots of old and new songs recorded and at the moment it is uncertain which ones will make it on to the finished record.
The live show at the moment consists of four of us, Ultan, Raoul Terzi, Eoin McCann and new bass player Steven Folan.
