video clips taken Sun. Aug. 4th 2007 - The Dpercussion Festival held in Castlefield, Manchester, UK This year was the 10th festival, and has gotten bigger and bigger every year. It is a major venue for emerging artists as well as old favorites, and is a highlight of local talent, businesses, and celebration of Manchester culture. Sadly, it has gotten so big and so expensive to produce, that they say this year was the last. It seems to me that rather than throw the whole thing out, that they could reduce the scope of the production, get more sponsors and volunteers to keep this amazing festival available. What do you think?

just like the stupid boo-ya-crats to stop something as soon as it gets really popular, just like they did with 'Streets Ahead'
and the exuse is always funding, I wouldnt mind but they were charging this time and it was so heavily policed we had a problem getting in and out even with the badges. So why not charge a fiver or something for an all day ticket and let peeps in and out if they need to wander around, I'm sure most peeps would pay that small amount to help keep it going, wotchoo fink?

I think you are absolutely spot on! There are ways to make it work if they cared to do so. Of course it would take some major grass roots efforts and probably corporate intervention at this point to make the nabobs get off of their collective behinds and do the right thing for the community! Thanks for your comments!
