The six-member crew of the next space shuttle flight received instruction on the operation of slidewire baskets during emergency exit training as part of a full launch dress rehearsal known as the terminal countdown demonstration test on Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The test provides astronauts and ground crews with an opportunity to participate in various simulated countdown activities, including equipment familiarization.

During its 13-day mission, the shuttles astronauts will deliver a third connecting module, the Tranquility node, to the International Space Station. Endeavours crew members are Commander George Zamka, Pilot Terry Virts and Mission Specialists Robert Behnken, Nicholas Patrick, Kathryn Hire and Stephen Robinson. Launch is targeted for Feb. 7.
