On Nov. 7, 2007, author Naomi Wolf was in Baltimore, Maryland, to discuss her latest book, "The End of America: Letter of Warning to a Young Patriot." One of the topics that came up during her remarks was the Constitutional issue of the impeachment of both President George W. Bush and V. P. Dick Cheney by the U.S. Congress. The event was held at the Bolton Street Synagogue and was sponsored by Breathe Books, located in the Hamden area of
Baltimore.

  • Bill got impeached for fibbing about a blow job.

Bush has lied to the nation and the world about why he took America to war. More he has family & friends that profited from the war.

    So who deserved impeached?

  • Like Naomi Wolf, I initially felt impeachment was too disruptive during this time of war in the Middle East. But I've come to the same conclusion she has - it's dangerous to let this administration remain in office. They can do a lot of harm in the time they have remaining.

  • Republicons = The Deceivers

  • Off topic, but she's hott!!!

  • Conservatives who do occasionally try to speak at such Universities are shouted down or have pies thrown at them

    -------

IF they're are neo-cons from Frontpage, Campus watch, trying to shut down speech by yanking funds, they deserve to be silenced.

In theory, public schools are OK, but they are more and more laboratories for super-STRICT social control and obedience to authority.

  • It's not enough to say that "we are supposed to be a Republic not a Democracy." That's almost babble. What do we mean? Why is democracy wrong?

The point is, a Constitutional Republic has LIMITS and ground rules, not *only* popular will. If we're avg people, we WANT democracy, not plutocracy, oligarchy, aristocracy.

But democracies usually become "elite rule" anyhow. Without hard ground rules (Constitution, Bill of Rights), elites tend to do what they want and call it "popular will".
