no you will not need to have the computer re-mapped or have to change anything on the bike. But adding a high flow air filter never hurt anything, the engine will only take as much air as it needs. But if it can breath easier thats a good thing. When you change the exhaust on a bike you are effecting the back pressure on each cylinder, and the fuel/air mix each piston needs to fire smoothly. Drilling a few holes in the exhaust dosn't change anything enough to have that much of and effect.
Be sure to use a marker to mark where you want the holes to be, that way you can check the spaceing before you drill. Also use a hammer and center punch to mark where you want to drill. I used two differnt size drill bits alternating , the first hole was a 1/4 inch hole then the second was a 1/2 inch hole spaced about 3/4 of and inch apart working my way around each tip. Hope this helps.
Thats pretty much what i did with my vrscx, i used a black marker, and a center punch to mark 12 holes in each exhaust tip, and I used two differnt size drill bits, it looks factory, and now i can hear the bike while riding. Besides im going to change the exhaust to a super trap next summer anyway so had nothing to loose and no it did not have any effect on the bike.
Seeing how i like the look of the stock pipes but would prefer louder pipes this sounds like something I might can do...can anyone help me with this..What is the procedure for drilling them out ?
I've purchased some used mufflers off ebay. Gonna do same thing. Then buy a power commander/fueller. I will get it checked out on a rolling road before I get a fueller tho.
sounds good I did the same thing to my 06 nightrod today but i have smaller holes but more of them and it sounds great..I didnt like the stock sound now i go down the highway and can be heard..

Hi, whats the procedure or is it just as simple as drilling holes, also do you need a new air filter and fuel mapping cheers
