@TheTechTemple no problems. my Twitter is @SneakGeek so we've already talked, lol. It didn't put the recovery though so it did force me to know how to install the Clockwork Mod and such. I still had to install a different super user for it to stick through the rebooting but for someone who just wants the phone rooted to use a few apps, it could work just fine.

@TheTechTemple solved the problem. 2.3.7 didnt work either but 2.3.6 did. i think my cellular signals were conflicting with radio signals, something like that. and for escaping the never ending animation logo, i had to reset data setting in recovery mode. by the way thank you for the help offer. its worth subscribing to you.

@themiista is it stil installing? I can't remember how long mine took but I don't think it was a crazy length of time.

@siglawoo My bad man. Dunno what is up with YouTube flagging comments as spam for no reason :-( You're still on 2.3.4. Many people had problems with that version so Google released the 2.3.7 version. Have you tried getting that one? If you're unsure of where/how to get it, let me know I'll help you out. It's no fun having a phone that you can't make calls on :-(
Hey I'm on 2.3.7 can I still root it?

@RKWALLDAY707 Yup! I rooted mine when I was at 2.3.7 using this method and everything is fine.

@TheTechTemple I haven't found the fastboot file or the recoveryclockwork file. Please advise. I have the android 4.0 sdk. Is that the problem?

@robertabraham82 Did you take a look at my website post located in the description of the video? I just double checked the links and the recoveryclockwork file and fastboot file are still there.

Ever heard of a program called SuperOneClick? I was skeptical about it working but after reading all the steps, I figured it was worth a shot since it would be easy to make a mistake somewhere. I ran it, clicked root and it worked!

@TruHipHop08 I've heard of it. Did it put the recovery on for you too? The only reason I prefer the manual method is because it forces you to be familiar with adb, which you need sometimes to remove system apps (like file manager). Glad it worked for you though! No problems?
