The leopard was rigged with Houdini's autorig tools and then a full set of muscles including jiggle was added to the deform rig. The fur was then attached to the deforming skin using Houdini's procedural fur system and textured fur shader.

  • @encarregado they arn't. it is close but its not. The cat is kindof pacing. thought only horses do that. :P

    other then that...AWESOME!!!!

  • i love how youll focus on the rig and the shaders and dynamics.. and everyone'll point out the obvious animation mistakes.

  • i have guestion about the speed, if you lower the geometry quality and disable the muscles can you make this rig play realtime in the viewport? what i mean is in the viewport igf you have any animation, can you just play it and have realtime feedback w/o creating playblats?

  • love it!!!!

  • Thats such a great example for the BIG difference between good riggers/TD's and good animators.

While the rig is really great the animation is really bad, but that's not the riggers job. So many people dont understand it.

  • Guys! He walks weird cuz he just came back from 'nam. XD

  • His back left hip was damaged in an accident?

  • @VexedCG oh right see what your saying...would probably have to agree with you there i suppose

  • @VexedCG a long time ago! what i was trying to say here is that the rig is very good.. but the animations look odd because of momentum.. the leopard has to "throw" his body up a bit to actualy lift both feet off the ground without falling.. and put the paw down quickly for the same reason.. i have seen footage and this is just a little bit off... again, i didnt want to say its bad.. good day to everyone
