FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Katelyn Strout may have a new knickname after Tuesday's 2-0 University of Saint Francis win over Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday afternoon.
How about 'Lightning' because she struck twice for USF. Along with a tenacious Lady Cougars defense that saw freshman goalkeeper Rachel Kostaneski post eight saves, USF posted its first win over the Wildcats since 2005 and snapped a seven-match losing streak as well.
The Lady Cougars are 5-2 in their last seven games, all five wins by shutouts, and USF improved to 8-6 overall, 3-2 in Mid-Central College Conference play. IWU, 2-5-1 in its last eight matches, slipped to 6-7-1 overall and 1-3-1 in MCC play. IWU opened the season ranked No. 8 in the NAIA Top 25.
