  • @mikhem1962 He loved us enough to give us a choice. And you and I shook our fist in His face. Things WILL be made right.

  • @JamesJon1187 "I'm saying that's the reason, people won't voluntarily rush into all immorality – at least initially (thought if you did take away all threat of punishment, you will eventually have the majority of masses doing so)." - do you mean the threat of biblical/divine punishment?

  • @ghbacch

I thought you were... like -- "you've got a contradiction there" --style.

  • @ktrigg2 I don't claim to be humble—I lift myself up in my mind (like a fool) plenty of times—but, (thankfully) by God's grace, I'll usually eventually recognize what a pathetic (and kinda gross) joke I'm being for it...and what true glory is - which is God's love & goodness.

  • @ktrigg2

Certainly levels of crimes exist. The OT law shows that well. There're also, of course, degrees of guilt. Jesus likened the Pharisee to a 50 pence debtor and the prostitute to a 500 pence debtor... but the point was, both had debts and needed to be forgiven/paid for by their creditor, the king. – Luke 7:40-48

Jesus was a complete giver with no selfish or “taking” motive. His life was a continual out-pour of grace (God's glory)...even the scolding of the pharisees and call of repentance to sinners was “tough love”...I understood God's laws were boundaries to keep people from following after evil, but that the point of it all was to do good/love (God's objective standard for man's interactions) as Paul says (Rom 13:8-10) & I saw that the Bible was, in fact, speaking the truth.

  • @ktrigg2I actually came to the Bible...God-to Bible instead of the other way around. I believed on Jesus, because I saw the character of God in Him (Jn 6:45). There was a point in my life where I wanted to know if God was of the truth or not & I was willing to do whatever it took in my life to know it. It was then God showed Himself to me in the form of truth & when I looked at Jesus I saw the Spirit of God in Him – thus I believed He was the son of God as He claimed. (cont)

Like rebels might be happy to borrow various aspects of a good King's wisdom though they hate the thought of subjecting themselves to all of it & Him.

  • @ktrigg2

Sorry, the order was a bit messy. I should've put the first part I wrote under your quote.

I'm saying that's the reason, people won't voluntarily rush into all immorality – at least initially (thought if you did take away all threat of punishment, you will eventually have the majority of masses doing so) - Is they have a knowledge of God's nature and while many despise God should be sovereign over them, they don't despise everything of His nature & wisdom... (continued)

  • @PiltdownSuperman Do you not recognize the irony in your statement, or are you simply choosing to ignore it?
