well, if you look on a map at spain and italy, you will see that that are almost touching africa. It is no surprise that in these 2 countries people's skin gets darker and darker the more you go south. I am even a small part italian and I must say that it is a fact that Africans have mixed a lot with southern europeans, especially sicilians.
