POWERTEC Lat System - Is it smooth & heavy duty? - www.samsfitness.com.au

We often get asked if the Powertec Lat System on the Powertec Power Rack System & Powertec Lat Machine is smooth &/or heavy duty. I thought the best way to answer this question was with a video of Brad giving it a hard time.

I can't remember exactly how much weight he was lifting but it was over 80kgs (176lbs). Anyway it was enough to stop Brad in his tracks on the last set.

So hopefully this shows you that this unit is smooth & heavy duty. I think it also shows that there is little if any mechanical advantage on this system.

Does powertec power rack still come with those same style of spotter bars? The pic on powertec site has a different version of spotter bars. Im curious as to how they work I'd love to see how they swivel out compared to the ones like whats on this machine.

We still have the old style. I have tried the new style ones and prefer the old style - mainly because that is what I have been used to for so many years.

They all do the same the thing so it is no biggy.

Hi mate

See in this vid how Brad has the bench flat. What you do is put the bench on decline and you will get extra range.

I am 6ft and I do pulldowns with the bench flat. So if you have it on decline you will be sweet.
