Turtle, tortoise, terrapin?
Different animals are called turtles, tortoises, or terrapins in different varieties of English. Although the word turtle is widely used to describe all members of the order Testudines.
On arriving in Liverpool (UK) I was struck by the visible developement of the city centre. This visible progress translated into a search for the point at which the new Liverpool meets the old. I began my explorations for the Rules and Regs project by photographing the outermost egdes of the new "Liverpool 1" development. Inspired by the idea set up in the rule that you live on a stage, "Turtle" is a visualisation of this meeting point where the progressive and international image of Liverpool meets an interpersonal idea of home and belonging.
