He arrives at Radio 1 to drop Zane Lowe an exclusive copy of 'Mercury', a brand new song that the band have put together. Sorry it's so dark but that's the way it rolls in the Zane Lowe studio!

  • bloc party is the best band and will die as the best band.

  • '...piss poor any bloc fan would say so' are you serious?? what kind of a 'fan' thinks that the band that they allegedly are a fan of is crap? get a new band. leave bloc party alone, they don't make music for you, and they are brilliant. aren't they allowed to experiment? change styles? evolve? just keep listening to one album for the rest of your life and let everyone else enjoy bands as they used to be and how they are changing. really.

  • That weird ostritch noise he makes around the 0:22 mark makes me laugh ^^

  • i love bloc party so much and prety much every1 of their songs but......i jst cant listen to mercury, sorry :(

  • pretty much all bands leak things out to journalists or radio broadcasters. so not sure bout the kid a thing. if meaning they wrote a bunch of lyrics and threw them into a hat and drew out what each succeeding line would be, then yeah that would be like kid a.

  • i was saying it in a good way:)

  • i read that the good way.

  • so they're trying to pull off a kid a...

  • love bloc partys silent alarm an weekend in the city n songs like staying fat the answer an flux, at 1st hear i didnt like mercury bt now i do its jus a lil different bt its good keep it up can wait to see them play live 1 pf my fav bands :)

  • sounds like they're jus experimenting which is pretty cool

  • Mercury is a brilliant piece of music and I'm glad they're leaning towards a more electronic sound and willing to experiment more. Indie has become pure pop music and I'm sick to the back teeth of most of the bands out there now. Music should be all about doing something different, not rehashing the same ideas. I just hope the album's in a similar style to this.
