This is when they became a "SUPERSTAR GROUP"!!! Florence Ballard left a few months earlier...and you can tell they really turned up the heat!!! What do you think? They sing "Reflections" and "Lady Is A Tramp" and killed it. Check out Diana at the end of the 2nd song...SUPERSTAR!!!!

Mary Didn`t SING Juvenile Deliquent, She Lived It, But for the Talent Show, she merely Mouthed the words to the song, Check out her Confession on her recent Las Vegas Interview Video

That's funny, because I remember reading in Ebony during my secondary school years that Mary borrowed her brother's leather jacket and sang "I'm Not a Juvenile Delinquent" (never heard it before, either!) and won. Flo was in the crowd that day and was so impressed she asked Mary to sing with her.

Well "Kurt" I think you have your OWN Version of the TRUTH, History & Record Sales back me up, In the 60's Diana Ross Eclipsed almost Everyone @ Motown, she was/is Exceptional & Special, The Supreme's Value was Limited, The Final 2 Number One singles (Love Child & Someday We'll be Together) were recorded WITHOUT "The Supremes"There was only 1 Diana Ross.

I am not saying the Supreme's and Miss Ross, were not talented,in fact they are one of my favorite (all time) girl groups. But the fact remains,The Marvelettes,Martha & The Vandellas,Mary Wells,,& i believe Brenda Holloway, all had hit records Long before the Supreme's.IMO,this does not detract for their greatness.I think you are the one having trouble dealing with what is truth, and what is not!

I'm not saying that the Supreme's weren't a very talented group. It is a fact that the song was offered to several other legitimate Motown Hit Makers at the time. The Supreme's had not arrived just yet,I agree, the Supreme's had 1st rate stage appearance!!! the other girl groups were either dull or clumsy in comparison to them,Fact remains, those other groups had "HITS" b4 the Supremes.Do you remember the "No Hit Supremes?"...I do. They were not 1st choice for the song, that is just a truth.

Mary NEVER won any singing contests. In fact she was in a startup group with 2 of Aretha's sisters and was criticized for her attempt at gospel like voices. Mary had a sultry, dusky capable, marketable voice; moreso than Flo in my opinion but she didn't win any talent shows, honey. The Primetes did but not Mary alone.. Ross' D in music came from her nasal sound; singing through her nose; not because she didn't have talent. Her technique was poor.

It is certain that Katherine Anderson; a background singer with the Marvellettes didn't turn down any songs from HDH. Does it make a difference. Ross' voice in the lower register made the song a hit. Visually, the Supremes won the nation over. Vocally, Where did Our Love... belongs to Ross. Diana or Diane.

Get your Head Around this "kurtdublin" Most of the Motown Artists recorded each others songs over the years, Diana SUCKED when doing Martha Reeve's "Heat Wave", Diana Ross OWNS Where did our Love go, Baby Love & ALL the rest of those songs, HER VOICE took them to Number 1, You Have NO IDEA what the Truth is, Diana had 5 connsecutive Number 1 Hits BEFORE any Intimate relationship with Berry Gordy, DUH!

Lets keep the record straight, If Katheryn Anderson,Of the Marvelettes had not turned down whatever the 1st hit the Supremes had, Baby Love,Come See About Me,or whatever it was.....its probaly a safe bet, the world would have never heard or known of the Supremes!.The Supremes were a superb group...in every sense, but they got there simply by a twist of fate. And yes Diane was a big Whore, she saw an opportunity,& she took advantage of it,whether on her BACK or on Stage! its just the truth.
