  • solid solo by a very young Nelson Hill. Great alto player... great guy and great teacher as well.

  • Thanks for the comments...

Arrivederci

  • Cool....this is from the Hollywood album...no??

  • Louie is one of my favs.... his drum solos were epic

  • @83DrumProdigy Always glad to help a fellow drummer....If you like Buddy Rich, check out something called Stick Trick...it's not very long, but OMG...it's pretty awesome. Buddy could blow anyone away. You also might give Louie Belson a look too. he's almost as good, and there's a YouTube clip of Steve Gadd performing with Buddy's former band.

  • *totally

  • @edcoll61 yea man thanx for turning me on to that s & G concert....it was great! and yea i tottally agree with you that the 81 is much better

  • @83DrumProdigy Hi, the 81 edition to me at PJF, is much better than this one, but that's just my opinion. If you're interested in seeing Steve Gadd at a young age, look for Simon and Garfunkel, The Concert in Central Park, There were 2 drummers and Gadd was one of them, He was probably in his mid to late 20's, I believe it's from circa 1981, and if you happen to like S & G, the concert is great

  • Mancini is a dynamite drummer....The 81 edition of this at playboy jazz festival. really got me watching him at a very young age. (i swore it was Gadd for so long)

  • Being a personal friend of drummer, Dave Mancini, and a huge fan of Maynard...this was a total treat. Thank you for the posting

  • @TheYoungMitch

In answer to your question - the lead player is Stan Marks
