Singer Songwriter Beatboxer Looper Ben Hammond covering Sublime's "Doin' Time" at the Hub Baja Grill on Siesta Key in Sarasota, FL. Using a Boomerang Loop Pedal, T5 Guitar, Vocal Percussion and filmed on a Kodak ZI-8. Visit http://www.benhammondmusic.com for more info and free mp3 downloads.

Had some people asking for the chords, so here you go:
g- = 3 5 5 3 3 3
C13 = x 3 5 5 5 5
c-6 = x 3 4 3 4 5
a-7b5 (a half diminished 7) = x 0 1 0 1 x
D7(b9) = x 5 4 5 4 x

And here is the form that I'm using (4 beats per bar, so each chord gets 2 beats) :
| g- C13 | g- C13 | g- C13 | g- C13 |
| c-6 c-6 | a-7b5 D7(b9) | g- C13 | g- C13 |

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Ahhhhhh so good dude, so much feeling.

  • @JackSparrow154 Rock On!

  • i think the lyrics were kinda wrong at one part...i thought brad said "represent the LBC, me, me , me and LOUIE"

  • @Adeustheband You Youtubers are sticklers for lyrics! You're right of course, these aren't the original lyrics, but I change 'em everytime I sing it depending on where I am and who is at the gig. For instance, on this day I was playing on Siesta Key so I use that instead of "LBC" and my friend Holly was at the gig so I use her name instead of Louie. Also I say "Benny's" on the microphone instead of "Bradley's". I probably screw up many others... lyrics precision is not one of my priorities :)

  • @benjaminhammond Ooops, I use "Scotty" and "Johnny" not Holly. But I use "Perm" her nick-name instead of the word her, and then you can hear her give a little hoot in the background.

  • Thanks man!! All your covers are sick!!! I don't really play lead, but wanna add some percussive stuff to my solo gig. Think the original boomerang is a good fit for me? Does it have undo? I was also looking at the line 6 jm4. Thoughts?

  • @escapemechanic Doesn't have an undo, but I have the new Boomerang III now which does have an undo feature and i pretty much never use it. I've never used any other loop pedals. I don't think there is a better simple pedal for live performance than the boomerang+, but they don't make it anymore :(

The new Rang III is awesome but much more complicated! Also, if you're not a lead player now, you will be when you get a looper! They are super fun and will help your lead playing tremendously!

  • Thanks man! Someone has a boom+ for sale on craigslist here in Carolina. I just ran across the namm clips of the new vox pedal, may have to wait for it! Anyway, thanks much for the help and the inspiration. If I'm ever out your way, I'll def catch a show!

  • @escapemechanic I'm only using two pedals, the Boomerang Looper and then a Sparkledrive for a little bit of distortion/gain. I engage the sparkle drive for the bass line, the first looped guitar riff high up on the neck, and then for the solo in the middle.

  • Is that just harmonics and clean guitar throughout?
