  • It was on his wikipedia page. I know, not the most credible source, but it may be true.

  • Heh, oh well. Did you read The Epicurus Reader yet, ya divspan? ;) Anyway, check out this vid of mine and READ THAT OTHER BOOK: /watch?v=TgR2s9yYE7g

Also, have you read De Rerum Natura yet, Chris? If not, you know the buggering is coming.

  • I have no real idea, Chris, but the "riddle of Epicurus", as it's so often termed, could well have been falsely attributed to Epicurus. It is not incompatible with his beliefs, but it is also not expressed elsewhere in his fragments. Anyway, where did you hear that interesting idea from?

  • Just got word from the Big guy himself! He told me that He was getting to the whole "Bad-things-happen" problem soon! But He's been ill :( Seems our Lord God has come down with a bad case of non-existence, pity. But He DID say that we all down here should just not worry about Him anymore and just start being nicer to one another ;) PEACE

  • "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?

    Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing?

    Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing?

    Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing?

    Then why call him God?

  • @lucretiuscaro cool name

  • Number four and then only thing I can think of is that the Gnostics were the closest to getting the evil answer down but it still doesn't answer where the evil came from. The secret book of John says Sophia created something flawed because she didn't consort her mail counterpart but why didn't she?? If she was eminated from the Father and he is pure then what lead her to make this decision? She even repents however I'm not sure what that means in its correct context.

  • My name is Lucretius Caro.

  • he can and he will

  • Regrettably I haven't had a chance to read The Epicurus Reader yet. But I will! It's at the top of my Pleasure Reading list now that I've finished Watchmen.

I do remember watching that video earlier. Forgot how horrible your mic was back then, haha.

And no, I haven't read that latter book yet either. In fact I don't even know what it's about.
