  • umm facemask?

  • @mullensax55 ummmmm.......no. He did not grab and pull. He did have his hand on the facemask, but nothing more than that....and it had no bearing on the outcome of the play. You're grasping at straws...

  • @JonathonZenk well i guess we have different views because i think he pulled. and it would have been either a penalty from the spot on the return or still purdue ball and enforced from there, so it might have mattered a little

  • @mullensax55 No, he did not grab and pull...you should blame Orton for sucking instead

  • Fuck you Kyle Orton

  • @mullensax55 KyLOLe Orton

  • @CaptainKirk39 Actually mr. Rear Admiral I'm pretty happy in life. .. . being an NFL QB would be nice for the money but I don't think I want to be a vegetable at age 50 and with all the hits these guys are taking... . well. . .it is pretty scary! Are you one of those nerds who dresses up like star trek characters all the time? Have you seen the bit TRIUMPH the insult comic dog did at the Star Trek Convention a few years ago. . . very funny!!! Have you ever seen a vergina? HA HA HA!

  • @LordHugenstein id take being an nfl quarterback over what ever the hell your doing (a.k.a. leading a life of non-relevancy) hahah

  • This is all I've ever seen when I look at orton in the NFL. "The Fumble"

  • @bigapplebucky Don't sell bye short, they posed a bigger challenge than Minnesota ;)

But I definitely agree about the James and Davis injuries. Davis being stopped short as time expired in the first half also really hurt, instead of being 21-21 at the half, it was 21-14...not being able to capatilize on two early picks hurt against Iowa hurt too.

  • @JonathonZenk - true, but Minnesota and bye weren't big challenges. The cumulative nature of the injuries really had an effect against MSU. (Don't recall the Nerd game that year)

But the D-line injuries weren't the only things hurting the team at the end of 2004. Lack of a healthy running back also hurt. Davis went lame early in the MSU game and Matt Bernstein was pressed into service against Iowa. Fine college FB, but he wasn't a great TB.

  • I was at a bar/restaurant in Minnesota when this play happened. We all jumped on our chairs and screamed during the play and everyone looked at us like we were crazy, which we were. They are crazier for being Gophers, though.

  • @Coopdg23 no they weren't they lost so wisconsin was the better team

  • Kyle Orton - Still fumbling away games 7 years later.

  • the worst moment ive ever witnessed. i was at the game and thinking when orton had it that he would pick up the 1st down and we would win, but he fumbled away the game, season, PROGRAM. but purdue was the better team that day hands down

  • I love watching this over and over and over again! Ten minutes early that little cocksucker dweeb orton cocked off after rushing for a touchdown!!! Karma came back and bit him in the ass!!! Now he is a 3rd tier qb in the nfl who can't even grow a real moustache or beard!!! He really is a little dweeb prick!!!

  • I remember watching this game in a bar at a hotel during a wedding reception... My whole family - almost exclusively Badger alumni - was out watching the game instead of in with the party. We were jumping up and down and screaming and even broke out with a chorus of "Varsity" at the end of the game. It was a beautiful thing.

  • I was at this game in a suites. As a badger fan on the road with a great buzz, I was proud to cry tears of joy after this play! Best feeling.

  • @bigapplebucky Actually, the MSU and Iowa games were awhile after this game. They played Northwestern, followed by a bye week and then a game vs. Minnesota before losing to MSU and Iowa...

  • That game hurt both teams. Purdue hasn't been the same since - losing several more games that season and after contending in the Big Ten for several years, fell back into the second division.

Three of four Wisconsin defensive linemen (James, Hawthorn and Welsh) were injured on cut blocks that day and the strong defense the Badgers had in '04, totally fell apart two weeks later against Michigan State and the week after that against Iowa.

  • to this day my brother will not talk about this game

  • @BuckeyeFan84 Yeah, I died a little that day.

  • A strong Scott................
