Demo Reel Breakdown
I came up with all of the concepts here.
1)00:00 Pugman Intro / Pugman Walk Cycle
The Pugman was box modeled in Maya and then sculpted in Mudbox. I built the rig in Maya. He has four 1024 x 1024 texture maps painted in Photoshop. The Animation was done in Maya and rendered in Mental Ray. The Composting was done in After Effects.
2)00:39 Apocalypse Pug Short
The Animation was done in Maya and rendered in Mental Ray. The Composting was done in After Effects.
3)01:39 Lip Sync
I did not model or rig this character. The animation was done in Maya and rendered in Maya Software. I did the post in After Effects. The clip came from the classic film: Leprechaun 5.
4)01:59 Motion Capture
Yes, that's me in the motion capture suit doing all that fine acting. I used a Vicon Motion System to capture my performance. Then I used Vicon software to clean up my range of motion (ROM) file. I took the MoCap data into Motion Builder to attach it to my character. I exported the animation curves from Motion Builder into Maya. Then I copied and pasted those curves onto fresh characters. The capture data was not good in many parts so I key framed a good portion of this short. I modeled and textured everything but the character.
5)02:25 2D Animation
I hand drew everything with pencil and paper. I tested the motion in Flipbook. The clean up and color was done in Photoshop. The animation was done in After Effects.
