I live in central IN...about 50 mi north of Seymour, JCM's original small town; and an hour or so north of Bloomington, IN the place he now calls home...home of IU...and we all love our famous home town guy's music...very nice to have AMAZING such talent in humble central midwest

I was surprised to hear this song was rumored to be about my junior high health teacher back in Indiana. At first I thought my friends were joking with me, but it is supposedly true. They dated back in high school I believe. Mellencamp has good taste in women because she was attractive. Anyway, great song.
