redbird, this Q is for you, wiz told me to ask you. 3 discs??? wow. whats so secure about it? i mean if by secure you mean the locks construction as far as shackle and case, then i agree fully, but. they could have done a little bit better with the key and locking mechinism, this lock has a brother with a better keyway, more discs

The Security of this lock comes thru obscurity the keyway profile while nothing fancy is resricted meaning only sargent makes blanx and they dont sell them to anyone unless you buy a lock with it also since this lock is only used by large instutional customers ie rail roads, power companies ,telco companies and the like little is publicly know of the workings of this lock unless you have realy done your research and of course it is very physicaly secure

The Rail Road was sent to S&G by the FBI and thats when the enviro padlock was designed, around 1981, yeah old but good stuff.rumer that switches will be axuillary/satilite type yeah as you know everyone has a key.

The RR version is 3 Disk w/2sidebars and there is a 5 disk too.Lock body powdered metal process.shackle case hardened or stainless available, Hardened shackle is no longer available in 81-1 (9/16Dia)
