  • born, because of you. Deep into the sea could be a metaphor for deep into her subconscious. She wants to be fresh, she wants to feel free and renewed, then at the end of the song she sings "I've been looking at the moon, and but I've been thinking of myself. I've got me under my own skin, I don't need nobody else." The moon is commonly seen as a symbol of romance or deep emotions and so she shares that she's realizing that the love she wants and needs (maybe in order for those wandering stars to

  • This is another one of my favorite songs. Here, I'll post what I think it means in response to the video question.

She's obviously singing the song to someone whom she loves, and that love grows stronger for this person, yet in one way or another, she feels like she's losing a piece of herself. • "If I could have sunlight in the palm of your hands I'd take the moonlight instead"

I think it means that she'd rather be free and poor than rich and captured

  • para mim uma das melhores musicas da nelly furtado

  • ME ENCANTO!!!

  • better than part one

  • Im so confused . . . . So you were analyzing this song? . . . . Maybe I should watch this again because The one I'm used to isnt anywhere near to this . . . this is the second part of the song right? Well duh it says part two . .. I like both parts though because although they are similar they aren't exactly the same

  • this one is waay better than the other one, i love this version

  • wonderfull!!!

    I love u nelly!!!

  • I can agree with the last part of your analysis. I always get this image of someone holding a ball of light in their hands, and it represents everything she ever really wanted, but it means her not being true to herself. So she closes his hand over the ball of light and turns away, with the moon in her eyes, reflecting determination for the path she must take, and sadness for what she had to give up.

  • go nelly!

    i love this song!
